How thay got the throttle wide open was interesting. You pull the accelerator UP and the diesel will stop! And they were spring loaded to idle. Sounds like a crank. I've operated 14's and 24's and they both operate the same way.The transmissions are air shifted so they have to run a while to built up pressure and there is a seperate foot throttle for each engine. What they need is a job running one. They won't last long.
if thats d7 he must have lengthen track frames
wouldnt fit in d7 thats d8 i think
they put a few of them in d8 yrs ago some cat dealer in california i think
Biden is going to end all diesel , then what? You basstrd democrats.
What was the first one with the v8
too many people on here dont eve n know the conditions they are working in
Back bladeing isn't aloud
What a beast.

Ise wire ki help se kheecha ja rha hai
This is bull shit
With no one pushing on the pedals it won’t move
what a waste of 220 gallons of diesel per day........................ way to much spinning of tracks. get a smaller scraper or a bigger dozer.
No shortage of power, that's for sure!
I've been around those old Cats all my life and looking at the shape of the hood, I'd take it to be a D8.
Its wonderful what a guy can do with a smoke wrench and a screwdriver 🪛!

More up to date D8s and Boxes please
When are we going to see up to date films D8s
Beautiful machine
When I was a kid running Cat 619C cable scraper in Alaska, springtime, stripping topsoil for a pad, the slabs of frozen dirt would ride up the ejector and sometimes stand straight up 8 feet above the ejector, top heavy but never tipped one!
Man I bet those don’t have any trouble loading those scrapers.
Carl Billings, is this Ken hard at work or is it you or Sean? I went out to see Ken work a couple times when he was working locally and help him if I could.....Usually that meant going to the local shop to get him a drink LOL
That's a bloody impressive big scraper, that material is ridiculously tough because that brutish D9H is slipping and struggling every foot to get through, don't kid your self that might D9 (early)D9G and in particular that D9H could damn well push,so when they are slipping with that Massive Terex scraper u have to know its some Very Tough Slogging, cheers bòys

Nice D8 dozer the best love that sound of metal tracks n screeching sound
👍🏼👍🏼🇦🇺
Nice to see this footage,I worked in Cowthick quarry as a trainee in 1970.
funny they left the dozers on these...
These guys Suck! Id run them all off if they worked for me!
You can pull more than you can push
Jik9
That is so hard on tracks on D11,wasting money and time,,any operator than operator this machine knows that
Kids want to dig their own swimming pool in 1 hour. Not counting $200 worth of fuel.
Need. Steering clutches adjusted
thats how you turn dirt
Becher at work
leaving the blades on and running wide open is foolishness!
I don't understand why this construction company just doesn't use 631 or bigger scrapers. In the late 80s I worked for Bemis construction out of Great Bend Kansas and we ran old 630 scrapers. George Bemis preferred the 630s because they were faster on long hauls. He made sure the mechanics kept them up and in good condition.
I worked with Baby Huey he ran a 630 at the Dallas airport job 40 some years ago he said they put high speed rear ends in them guys were slapping hands on the haul road
Damn that is slow
Run a small dozer and pull scraper, there alright for short haul or soft ground conditions, using my unit at the moment but running a Cat elevator scraper of my mates for the longer hauls, too much track wear otherwise

These look like toys compared to the Terex tts 24s we ran. I know we hauled 30 or more yards a load. But we had sideboards added on and had 700 horsepower.
I envy people who can build an item that has never existed and yet make it look like it rolled off of the factory assembly line.

At Rutland Railway there used to be a working scale model and a cab from Sundew I dont know if its still there .
The working model of the dragline your on about is now at Carlton park near Corby,
@@joginns778 Thanks Jo ,We had a layout at Rutland one year and the model broke and me and Mike Case held the lib while the owner repaired it and got it working again ,Do you know if its still working ?
@@Bobtidbury Robert all I can tell you is the dragline is sat in a display case on the floor at Carlton park museum just outside Corby on the road towards market harborough,
@@Bobtidbury question is there by chance two working models of the w 1400 hundred dragline the one at Carlton park I believe is a model of the dragline that was working at cowthick pit at Weldon,
There not for long hauls, meaning by the time there full there coming into the fill area. Yeah 57's haul faster on longer runs. Just my 2cent
